Food for Thought

The kitchen is often seen as the heart of the home. Food is a powerful symbol of nurturing, love and celebration. Food means many things to many people, but a common thread is the "home-cooked" meals that have given them and their families comfort and satisfaction. Family histories include cherished recipes, favorite holiday meals and traditions passed down through the generations.

The kitchen is also the heart of Crandall Medical Center. The Dietary Staff of Crandall Medical Center understands that meal time often is the highlight of the day for many residents. Because of the importance of meal time to our residents, Crandall Medical Center has taken dining standards in rehabilitation and long-term care to an all-time high.

The dining rooms at Crandall Medical Center offer a casual bistro atmosphere where residents and family members can sit, talk, reminisce and enjoy socializing. A gathering point, the dining rooms are especially busy during the evening meal which is a social event as well as a dining experience for residents. Floor to ceiling window walls bathe the rooms in natural light and offer scenic rural panoramas that change with the season. Soft music is a pleasant background for conversation.
